We need to dispose of a used phone system
Telecom Green Ltd are fully accredited by The Environment Agency to handle electronic waste. We have significant experience in deinstalling the majority of telephone systems, from 2 to 2,000 extensions. And with our knowledge of the second-hand market, we can help realise some value from redundant PABX and It equipment.
We have IT and computer equipment to recycle
We have been handling IT and PC surplus hardware since 1999, and are fully accredited by The Environment Agency for the collection, storage, transport and disposal of electronic waste, according to the WEEE directive. We can issue Duty of Care documents on collection, and can handle hazardous waste such as CRT (old-style) monitors, and lead-acid batteries as found in UPS equipment.
We have worked closely with Computer Aid Ltd in supplying equipment for refurbishment and export to schools and charities in developing countries. Reuse is the best form of recycling! And where we can identify some value in equipment, we can assist in finding buyers.
So do you buy equipment, remove it for free, or do we have to pay you?
That depends on what it is! The value of used phone equipment has declined considerably since 2002. Generally, at best, we remove free of charge. At worst, we charge for deinstallation, collection, and recycling. Having been traders in used telecomms equipment since 1998, we are aware of market value, and the likelihood of reselling your used phone system.
But I paid thousands for this equipment
Unfortunately, market forces acting on resale value of used phone equipment cannot be esisted. This caused us to expand the removal and recycling arm of our business some ime ago. The advent of a new generation of IP-based system and new marketing trategies by major players has caused a flood of used phone equipment onto the market with a marked downward effect on values.
What do you do with it?
Some parts are reused, being sold to keep other systems alive. Anything not reuseable is offered to processing companies who refine it and extract reuseable materials, such as steel, copper, precious metals, etc. Plastics, cardboard, and even paper ford in user manuals is recydled. We estimate that less than 1% of our output goes to landfill.

Yes we do. We are fully accredited by The Environment Agency to do this. We often donate used PCs to a charity which refurbishes them and sends them to African schools.
We’re looking for a telephone engineer in North East England.
We are truly local, and have a number of loyal “repeat” customers for whom we’ve solved problems, supplied equipment to, and installed cables. Including some major “High Street” names and major multinationals. Thanks to our national connections, we have access to many engineers who can provide specialist help on all types of equipment. And we’re not determined to sell you a new phone system at all costs!
You appear to have been mainly a removal and recycling company. How can I trust you with my phone system, home phones, or broadband problems?
We have been working as installation and repair engineers for a number of years, mainly at the request of customers and on behalf of industry partners. We now feel that we should offer these services to a wider audience, particularly on a local basis. Our experience is already proven, and in the past, we’ve been sought by customers to do engineering work for them.
