The Solution - The Process

Project Management - Large or small, used phone equipment is never easy to remove and recycle. Our process begins with a thorough site survey for our larger projects, including a thorough 20-point risk assessment. We know what can slow things down!

Health and Safety

Method statement and risk assessments are prepared.

Security

We consider site access issues and requirements to maintain site security whilst loading vehicles.

We come equipped with a healthily cynical, cautious approach. Of course, this "big project" approach is applied on out smaller projects, even to unscrewing a small used phone system from the wall at a branch office!

What We Do With it

Most Equipment is not resalable, but it is recyclable!

It is delivered into one of a number of licensed waste management companies who separate equipment into categories (copper, steel, printed circuit boards) and remove precious metals, such as gold, silver, and palladium (as used in the manufacture of motor vehicle catalytic converters) from the circuit boards. The regulations regarding this process are extremely strict and are monitored by The Environment Agency. Typically, from two tonnes of recyclable material, only twenty kilos will be disposed of as inert landfill.

We Don't Dump It!

Some items, such as old analogue telephones, are donated to charities for resale. Some PCs are given to agencies, which export to the third world, where they are put to use in schools (see our links page!). Small amounts may be stored for possible resale.
